Paparazzi

Paparazzi Title

1. CityWalk at Universal City. The Panasonic Pavilion wants to get folks to play with Panasonic's camcorders. Metavision turns the idea into an interactive arcade game.

2. With camcorders shooting into a madcap Hollywood party with a cast of 80 characters, players follow a Tabloid TV host as he guides them toward the juicy stories unfolding at the party.

The party was projected on large cabinet TVs, as players attempted to frame the most interesting action among the movie stars and bonus characters. Rolling the camera at the right time racks up points. With many alternate scenes being presented, each player gets a unique game (and a personal review from the host) from over a hundred possible combinations.

3. Paparazzi becomes something of an LA cult classic in just a few short months.

Paparazzi ran for over two years until Panasonic sold Universal City.
