3 Screen Presentation This is a brief excerpt from the Hallmark Visitor Center show. The theater provides an insight into the creative process that underlies the design and production of cards that deal with the communication of shared human sentiments. Over 800 artists and writers work at Hallmark and this is their story in their own words. (The voices are from the actual people who design these cards.)
The movie here is actually three parallel streams of synchronized video coming from a high-quality MPEG video server. The show runs all day long, every day. Visitors can stand or sit to see the show which is a continuous loop of segments separated by quiet grapic titles. This is an excerpt of the "Creative Results" portion.
The slate titles at the head of the piece show how the three projections integrate into the appearance of one image. (Of course, they don't show in the theater.)
The three panels are pre-distorted to fit onto their sculpted projection surfaces which spread the image out over three huge dimensional sheets of "paper" that tumble off the theater wall. (You may be able to see some of that effect as odd-geometric crossings on the media above.)
