EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
- The client is the customer.
- Client's customers are The Guest.
- To Metavision both are The Guest.
- As we do our job as a Guest Experience Provider, our clients become Guest Experience Providers, too.
It has been noted by some that when one cuts through everything else, business works in two basic modes:
fear or trust. Life's too short to do business based on fear, so for the last twenty years we've done business through trust. (Whadda ya going to do? Learn to trust after you retire?) By bringing trusted resources into the project from hand picked experts in our global resource network we find that we achieve supurb results together.
As a big project we were managing was nearing completion in Japan, one of our Japanese contractors who was working on similar projects in another city asked, "Why is your project going so smoothly when all of those other projects are in trouble?"
Our project was a fast-track, 10 month from handshake-to-opening-day effort and the "troubled" projects had been two years in the making. Our client trusted us to make purchases, form aliances, manage the whole process and solve problems on the fly. The other project was beset with permission-granting gatekeepers who had no real understanding of their project's vision, fiefdoms of "teams" working without central multi-cultural comunication and "cost saving" paperwork that justified every dime spent.
Which project operated on trust? Which on fear? (The handshake is a clue...)
NASA has an elaborate visitor center at Cape Kennedy in Florida. Millions of people come each year to see for themselves what the realities of space exploration look and feel like up close. When Metavision was awarded the Signature Film of the Space Center we knew that depictions of future realities had to be as convincing as the special effects seen in the best sci-fi films.
Quest For Life is now playing at the Visitor Complex and is permanently housed in its own custom theater. It is a theatrical motion picture playing in 35mm film and has a 6-channel surround sound digital DTS soundtrack.
NASA trusted Metavision to deliver the film on time and on budget without questioning the details of the production process. This allowed Metavision to use a new technology, Metavision Digital Film MDF 30\24 for its production. Now Quest For Life is playing to sold-out performances every day with on-screen images that are a notch better than those we typically see in movie theaters. The film's story is enhanced by the quality of its "look" and NASA's trust has been rewarded.
